It All Started With a College Class

Cinch Founder & CEO, Justin Rae, has been a data-driven marketer since 2004. It all started when he learned about Google’s data-driven algorithms in an undergrad consumer behavior class at the University of Florida.

Shortly after graduation, he founded his own marketing agency, running campaigns for various types of local businesses, including quick lubes.

After years of using other software to execute his data-driven marketing models, he saw a need to create something better.

He wanted the local businesses he worked with to benefit from the data-driven marketing approach that big businesses were using. Big businesses get bigger and bigger because they have access to more data.

Why can’t local businesses do the same thing? It was time for someone to close the data gap between big and small businesses.

So in 2016, he created software to give local businesses a platform to run data-driven, multi-channel marketing campaigns. After several names and other iterations, he landed on Cinch.

Eventually, he teamed up with co-founders Jared Rich and Chris London who shared his big vision.

That customer data is enhanced by Cinch's third-party data set and cleaned so it's useful to the business.

Created our first prototype and brought on local restaurants and carpet cleaning companies.

The COVID pandemic changed the face of local business and marketing became more important than ever. At the end of the year, we raised a friends and family round.

Started branching out into quick lube, pest control, ecommerce, and gyms. Founder, Justin Rae, accepted an invitation to join the Master of Business Creation at the University of Utah.

After gaining more traction than ever, we raised a Seed Round led by Lionel Ventures, crossed the point of serving 2,000+ local business locations across the United States.
